The Convention

Multiple Days of Triumphant Bliss
08.31.2020
09.04.2020

The Vintage Triumph Register (VTR) is a North American Triumph car club of over 2,800 Triumph owners and enthusiasts supporting and showcasing all models of Triumphs.  VTR has supported a national convention hosted by one of its chapter clubs every year since 1976, and 2020's event promises to be the best yet--carrying the tradition into a new decade.  This year's convention will be hosted by the Illinois Sports Owner Association (ISOA), one of the largest and most active Triumph clubs in the country.  Compete in an autocross challenge, participate in a funkhana event, drive in a road rallye on our carefully selected back roads, and even learn about your car in our expert-led technical sessions.  However you choose to spend your week, you'll get to enjoy it in the company of great people who are just as Triumph-crazy as you are.  See you in Galena!

Join us in Galena

During the last Ice Age, the glaciers that once covered the Midwest missed the region known as the "driftless area."  This means that in Galena, the surface was never eroded away or buried by glacial deposits.  You'll find a midwestern area surprisingly covered in bluffs, narrow valleys, and spectacular driving roads (though technically the roads aren't a geological development...).

Not interested in geology?  Galena is filled with rich history.  It was known for lead production (the word "Galena" actually comes from the Latin word for "lead") and was an important town during the Civil War.  You'll find landmarks such as Grant's home and historic hotels including DeSoto House--where we're planning a breakfast run.

You'll also find award-winning golf courses, plenty of fine dining and shopping opportunities; and you can't go for a drive without TRipping over curvy roads and gorgeous views!  You won't want to miss this event!
